When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or when you are put on hold for 6 hours with the Bank Fraud Department - you write a song about waiting. Thats what my brilliant senior editor, Abby Hall, did after her bank account was raided by a very tricky thief.

Don’t click on any links people! Even if it looks legit.
Abby got a text from, what authentically looked like, The Bank asking her to change her password. The link took her directly to her bank account…well you can guess the rest. She probably won't get her money back due to the high volume of theft happening right now. And, after all, "she did click the link" (in the words of the Bank rep). Regardless, I want to tell this story not to warn or judge anyone - but rather to praise my beautiful daughter for her response to this crime. While on hold for 6 hours with the Fraud Department, she wrote a song about how many of us are on hold in life. Waiting for happiness, for love, for joy or for someone else to make things better. After the 4 hours, the call was cut off and she lost her place in the proverbial line. I can not go into detail about the other negative things that heaped on to her leading up to this moment, let's just say that many of us would smash that phone followed by some not-so-friendly profanities. Not Abby. She moved on from this wicked act, with a song. I won’t lie, it did hurt her, but she doesn’t see herself as a victim. She knows that she lives in a world where there are plenty of thieves and that the only way past them is joy. She knows that whatever happens to her in this life, no one can take away the music inside her. She knows that giving away that music is her true joy and purpose and that it always brings back much more. I love the quote from Wayne Dyer “don’t die with your music still in you”. it means that you don’t allow yourself to live any life other than the one you were born to live" - even when wicked things happen to you.
So grateful for this awesome example of a human being who is truly living out her life with purpose and a song.
Her new release will be coming soon to Spotify. Listen to her songs @abbyjhall.com
